Happy Anniversary

Today is our anniversary.  My sweet fella and I have been married for 15 glorious years.  It just amazes me to think about.  We've been through so many things, been blessed beyond our wildest dreams, have learned so many things--good and bad--the easy and the hard way.  It's just mind blowing.  We are both so thankful for God putting us together and blessing us beyond our shortcomings.  For showing us His Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness in our life.  We don't deserve any of it, but God has blessed us regardless.

I truly LOVE being married to this man!  I remember when we were first married, for months following I would say out of the blue "We're married.  MARRIED!  You're my HUSBAND"  I was just in awe at that amazing gift.  It almost didn't seem real.  I'm so thankful for God preparing him for me.  I'm thankful to my mother and father in law for preparing him for me. They didn't know at the time that's what they were doing (or they may have warned him!), but they were.  Teaching him and preparing him to be my husband and the father of our children.  Thank you Dick and Jana for that.  Most of what he is today is because of that teaching and training.  I'm thankful for his grandparents who influenced his life and prepared him to be a witness and a blessing to others.

Here we are 15 years ago today:

Grandpa Bud took this picture of us and it was our favorite and has hung in every house we've lived in.

And here we are recently

A little bit older, little bit wiser, little bit of gray hair and still a very long way to go.

I was blessed to open my Facebook wall today and see this message from my dear, sweet beloved:
"!!15!! Research tells me that this is the "watch" anniversary. I think whoever decided this is far wiser than they know. It will be the "watch" anniversary. An anniversary where I look back over an incredible 15 years, learning lessons from those years, and setting a course for the next 75 years. A course designed to strengthen our marraige and our family. I want my wife and kids to "watch" intently as I prove myself to be a husband, father, son, grandson, and brother they can love, respect, follow, and hopefully emulate when God blesses them with a spouse and family.  And you will be stuck with me for the next 75 years."
Andrew Ryan

(He is a keeper, y'all.)

Andrew, my love, I am truly blessed to be called your wife.  I look forward to many, many more years together.  Come what may, you are mine and I am yours.  I trust you completely and rely on you to lead and guide our family in the way that God leads you.  Thank you for being my life partner on this road God has lead us down together.

In honor of our anniversary, we leave you with one of our favorite songs/videos regarding our marriage.  We hope you enjoy!

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
Genesis 2:24

A beautiful tribute to what happens when God is at the center of a marriage. You have both touched so many lives and left a path of grace in your wake. May God continue to bless you both as you honor Him and each other the rest of your days.

Congratulations to one of the cutest, sweetest, most Godly couples we know! God has created a beautiful family through you two. Only eternity will tell the true measure of your influence on the lives of your children (and bonus children). God bless each of you! (We will celebrate 45 years this December. Seems like our 15th was only yesterday!)
