Date night!

We very rarely get to on 'dates'.  With Andy's work schedule, deployments, or a lack of a babysitter we've just not been able to go out together just the two of us.   When we lived in North Carolina several years ago, we had wonderful friends with which we would trade child care.  We'd watch their children for a date and then they'd watch ours a different time.  It was a great way to build friendships and we could go on date nights a little more often, but when we moved away from there, date nights became a lot less frequent.

Now, Rachel is getting older and she is an excellent babysitter.  So, there have been a few times since we moved here that we've been able to put the kids to bed a little early and Rachel would sit with them for an hour or two while we ran to the store or grabbed coffee or an ice cream not far away.  We are so appreciative of that time together.

Last night we were able to slip away for a couple of hours and actually went to a sit down restaurant!  I cannot remember the last time we did that!  Before we went, Rachel and Connor took some fun pictures of us.
