Fruity Krispies

We had little friends over last night for a sleepover.  The kids had all decided on breakfast-for-supper.  So, we made pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs.  And what would you have for dessert (or "Fruh-zzert" as our little ones say) with a breakfast supper?  Rice Krispy treats, of course!  However, our family loves to do these with Fruity Pebbles and call them Fruity Krispies.  It's the good ole fashioned Rice Krispies recipe that we all know and love, but I went ahead and copied it to here just in case.

Fruity Krispies
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular smushmallows
- OR -
4 cups miniature smushmallows
6 cups Fruity Pebbles (or generic) cereal

1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add smushmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add Fruity Pebbles cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

Beginning ingredients.  There were 10 kids so we made a double batch.

My least favorite part of making these treats.

Yummy, fruity, smushmallowy goodness!
"My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off."
Proverbs 24:13-14
