Last year, our dear friends the Harrisons gave us a gift of a little, black bunny. We named him Pepper. We got him as a tiny baby that would fit in the palms of our hands and also would fit inside a small cage. Now his small cage looks like a shoebox with him crammed inside, and we were a little tired of him decorating our garage with his.....presents, so we all decided it was time for an upgrade. Also, now that we've moved onto a much bigger lot, we definitely have the room to set him up outside.
First, we looked at wooden bunny hutches prices online and in the stores. Definitely a no-go. So, Daddy and the 4 munchkins decided they could craft him a super spectacular home for a fraction of the cost.
They all went to work drawing up their ideas. When we assembled all of their work, we decided that if we built the hutch to their specifications, bunny foo-foo would be living a little too high on the
hog..er bunny! So, Daddy took a few ideas from each one and then incorporated them into a smaller, much more humble bunny abode. We were very excited at the opportunity to teach them about woodworking, measurements and also creative thinking in coming up with unique ideas. They all went to work and after a few weeks, this is what the finished product looked like!
(I will update the post soon with a picture of the bunny inside it and I will also try to find some of the kids' plans they drew up for him)
