Friends that might as well be family

I've blogged before about our dear friends that are preparing to be missionaries to Papua, New Guinea.  They have recently finished up school at New Tribes Missions in MO and are moving back to Oklahoma as they finish raising support to go to the field.

Last weekend, they were moving and we wanted to be able to visit them and help them move.  So, we made a quick trip down to their house about 3 1/2 hours from here.  While everyone (including the children) worked very hard packing, cleaning and moving boxes, our friends were gracious enough to squeeze in a couple of fun things while we were there.

This New Tribes campus sits right on the Lake of the Ozarks and the campus has a waterfront beach for the residents there.  There was a rope swing to swing out into the water, a dock you could swim out to and jump off of, canoes, paddle boats and more!  We were able to go twice while we were there.  Here are some pictures and then a few videos from their time at the lake.

Here are a few of the grownups at the lake

We also got to go to a great State Park called "Ha Ha Tonka" and go hiking with the kids.  We bribed all 7 of the kids (and a couple of us grownups) with donuts at the park to get up super early so it would be cool when we went and so we could get back and get some work done.  We got to see a burned down castle, a natural bridge, and we got to hike about 4 1/2 miles-including a set of 316 stairs that go almost straight up!

Please remember to join us in prayer for the Harris Family as they travel and raise support to go to the field.

"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
Proverbs 18:24
