It was so neat and such a great science lesson for Connor. And such a wonderful time spent with Papa and Daddy. They had it all ready and we took it outside to launch. Everyone joined in to watch and to count down the launch.
Papa showing Connor the direction he needed to aim the rocket for the launch.
Nathan was afraid it would be loud like the fireworks we shoot off at Papa and Grandma's for 4th of July.
The first launch was great!
But, this is where it landed.
They got it down and were able to get 3 more successful launches out of it before it landed again in another tree. But this time, it was a little bit tougher to reach.
Uncle Curtis climbed half way up the tree and tried to shake it loose and just couldn't. So, we all went inside. But, Papa's wheels started turning and soon he started searching the house for a new rocket project.
They soon came up with a rocket that actually looked like it would launch!
We headed outside to get ready to launch the new, homemade rocket and, apparantly, while we were inside working on it. Uncle Curtis had been working on getting the rocket down out of the tree! This is what we discovered when we went outside.
He had carried a cane pole up with him and was working to get the rocket loose. And he did!
Then we went over to launch the homemade rocket.
Here's the fun video from that launch.

How fun! I love the video and all the pics. Looks like everyone had a great time!
That Curtis had to climb the tree is just funny. While we were at mom/dad's Richard and the boys got a football (and then another ball and a golf club) stuck up in a tree.....and Isaac climbed up to get them all down (with the help of a 2x4)! I'm glad we have brothers that will climb trees! : )
Great times for boys!!!
Rockets are so fun... the girls and I do them every summer.
